SPEAKING TO PEOPLE WITH A HEARING LOSS
When speaking to someone with a hearing loss do not over exaggerate your mouth movements. Speak normally but not too fast. Do not turn away or cover your mouth in any way. You also should not have gum in your mouth. You don't always need to speak louder depending on their hearing loss.

SPEAK SOFTLY AND BE HEARD
In a noisy room, if you speak softly people will quiet down to hear you speak. Speaking louder only encourages more noise and the message gets harder to deliver.

IF YOU ARE A WOMAN SPEAKING TO A COUPLE
If you are a woman and find yourself addressing a couple,(man & woman) be it be a business or social situation......always make it a point to talk and pay attention to the woman just a little bit more ...you don't want her to think that you have any interest in her man.....( some women are quite insecure ...... no matter how older you are or what you look like)...

OVERCOMING ANXIETY WHILE PUBLIC SPEAKING
Instead of imagining people in their underwear, do not look at anyone directly. Focus on the horizon just above the heads of the people in the last row of the audience.

MAKING A SPEECH
If in doubt - slow down. You probably won't go too wrong if you remember to slow down your speech and increase your pauses - even if you feel that you are doing this to an unnatural extent.
