WAKING UP WITH A CAT
Generally speaking, if your cat nudges your feet in the morning, it wants to stay inside. If it nudges your face, it wants to go out.

WATCHING PEOPLE'S SHOULDERS
Genuine emotion is always expressed with the entire body. When uncertain of a person's sincerity, watch their shoulders. You should doubt anyone who is speaking with strong emotion and relaxed shoulders.

LEARNING A LANGUAGE
About 150 to 200 hours of instruction and $1,500 worth of cds and classes should produce credible speaking ability in French, Spanish, or German. For Oriental and Middle Eastern languages, figure 2 or 3 times longer.

ANSWERING THE TELEPHONE
If you say, "Mr Jones speaking," the caller will think you're a stuffed shirt. If you say, "Frank speaking," the caller will think you're a blue-collar worker. If you say, "Frank Jones speaking," the caller's impression of you will be neutral, which is what you want on the first contact.

BUYING A DIGITAL CAMERA
A 6 megapixel digital camera offers plenty of resolution for snapshots, web publishing, and even 8x10 prints, and is adequate for 16x20 prints. For 20x30 posters, full-page magazine photography, and the like, 10 megapixels would be a better idea. Generally speaking, a top-notch 6MP camera takes better pictures than a cheapo 10MP camera.
