LOOK FOR THE EXIT SIGN
When giving a speech in a public setting, speak directly to the red glowing exit sign. It's generally at the back of the auditorium/conference room. It's up high and easy to find. Plus you won't be distracted by looking in to the face of an audience member.

BUYING A DIGITAL CAMERA
A 6 megapixel digital camera offers plenty of resolution for snapshots, web publishing, and even 8x10 prints, and is adequate for 16x20 prints. For 20x30 posters, full-page magazine photography, and the like, 10 megapixels would be a better idea. Generally speaking, a top-notch 6MP camera takes better pictures than a cheapo 10MP camera.

Plan for one slide per minute. Most beginners make (especially short) talks that are about twice too long.

AUDIENCE ATTENTION
When speaking to an audience of more than 10, at any given moment 40% of them will not be listening so repetition with variety is recommended.

SPEAKING TO PEOPLE WITH A HEARING LOSS
When speaking to someone with a hearing loss do not over exaggerate your mouth movements. Speak normally but not too fast. Do not turn away or cover your mouth in any way. You also should not have gum in your mouth. You don't always need to speak louder depending on their hearing loss.
